PUBLIC STATEMENT OF CONFIDENTIALITY

Vision Verification (Pty) Ltd is a SANAS-accredited B-BBEE Verification Agency and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality,
impartiality and integrity in accordance with the requirements of SANAS R47 and the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice.

Confidentiality is a core principle underpinning the credibility of the B-BBEE verification process. In order to conduct verification activities competently and independently, Vision Verification (Pty) Ltd requires access to information of a confidential and proprietary nature. All such information obtained or generated during the course of verification activities is safeguarded and treated as strictly confidential.

During the performance of verification services, Vision Verification (Pty) Ltd may gain access to confidential information relating to a client, including but not limited to ownership information, management and control data, financial records, procurement information, skills development initiatives, enterprise and supplier development data, socio-economic development information.

Vision Verification (Pty) Ltd commits to the following:

• All client information obtained or created before, during or after verification activities is classified as confidential and is protected
  against unauthorised access, disclosure or use.
• Confidential information is used solely for the purpose of conducting B-BBEE verification activities in line with SANAS R47 and the
  applicable Codes of Good Practice.
• No confidential client information is disclosed to any third party without the client’s prior written consent, except where disclosure is
  required by law or accreditation requirements.
• Appropriate administrative, technical and organisational controls are implemented to ensure the protection and secure handling of
  confidential information.
• Only authorised personnel involved in verification activities are granted access to confidential information, and such personnel are
  bound by formal confidentiality obligations.
• No confidential information is used for personal gain or for the benefit of any third party.
• Information disclosed externally is limited strictly to the final verification outputs, namely the B-BBEE scorecard and B-BBEE
  certificate, unless otherwise authorised in writing by the client.

In accordance with SANAS R47, Vision Verification (Pty) Ltd may disclose confidential information under the following circumstances:

• Where disclosure is required by law, regulation or legal process;
• Where disclosure is required by SANAS, the dtic, or any other regulatory or accreditation body with lawful authority; or
• Where disclosure is necessary for the effective conduct of verification activities and is limited to personnel, contractors or professional
  advisers who are subject to confidentiality obligations.

These confidentiality obligations do not apply to information that is publicly available or becomes publicly available through no breach of confidentiality by Vision Verification (Pty) Ltd or its personnel.

This Public Statement of Confidentiality is published in the interest of transparency and to provide assurance to all stakeholders that Vision Verification (Pty) Ltd complies fully with the confidentiality requirements of SANAS R47 and maintains the trust placed in it as an independent B-BBEE Verification Agency.
